Alien Romulus

Is it everything the original was? No. Is it particularly original? No. But for a story with entries spanning decades, Alien: Romulus demonstrates that you can cash in without defiling an IP (of which the franchise has already been a victim). The movie maintains the anti-corporate tones under the guise of a dystopian mining planet, and the sound design is so good it can make jumpscares get me after years of desensitization by Five Nights at Freddy’s. Kino doesn’t have to be original.
